Shane Lowry’s Record-Breaking Triumph | Belfast News

Shane Lowry crushed it at the Amgen Irish Open, winning by an astonishing 11 shots — a new tournament record — and his uncle Seán called it a masterclass that helped Shane bury past disappointments. After a rough stretch of Sundays this year, this win was a huge confidence boost, especially on notoriously tricky links courses where big mistakes lurk around every corner. The whole family is beaming with pride. Shane’s grounded personality and heartfelt victory speech made him even more endearing, and his uncle believes his love for the game and genuine passion are key to his success. Physically sharp and mentally focused — even taking extra time on putts — Shane’s momentum is building fast. With the Ryder Cup looming and his heart firmly rooted in Ireland and his hometown of Offaly, he’s heading straight to Wentworth with fire in his belly and a trophy in his sights.
