Shane Peterson WEST LYON INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

This week Shane Peterson is stopping by to talk shop and show us around. Here's a little background info about West Lyon CSD for Wednesday night. We are a K-12 district in Northwest Iowa. We have around 1000 kids with around 300 in the high school.  Currently around half of those high school kids are enrolled in shop. In my schedule I offer cabinetry, construction trades, CAD, automotive, basic home maintenance, a freshman intro class (Intro to Industrial Trades) and an 8th grade exploratory class that allows all 8th graders to go through a quarter of shop. Our other shop teacher offers welding 1 and 2, manufacturing, fabrication and our other section of automotive. We added 4000 sq ft 3 years ago which included a paint booth and a car lift.
