Send us Fan MailToday we chatted with Australian surfer Shane Wehner  @the_famous_brouleesurfschool where he tells about catching his first wave at age 8, but not til 11 did he have a real passion for surfing.  When Shane went outside his local area for a surf contest, he was treated as an unknown country kid. But he loved competing and participated in all the surf contests he could get into. Being the underdog with pure determination, Shane was able to break into the next level. He tells us how once making the CT, he always seemed to pull Kelly, Occy, or Sunny, so it's like going from junior high to high school! He talks about if the waves were big hallow lefts, guys would be concerned if they had to surf against him, like in the '99 Pipeline Masters, where Shane came runner-up to KS.
