In the dead of night, as people sleep, that is when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three dark things take power, we like to call it the supernatural hour. And now... Welcome to the Supernatural podcast.

I am your host, Riva. I'm Red. This is Doc and Chad's here too. So it is an undetermined amount in early-ish summer.

It feels like it should be later in the summer. And I'm ready for fall because I'm done with hot. I'm having a heat wave here in our part of the country and I'm done. I hear lots of other parts of the country are having the heat waves too.

Not Texas. Yeah, Pacific Northwest and the North-eases. Don't even argue that Texas is doing great during the summer. I've got a friend that lives in Texas and she's like, you guys would love it down here.

So anyway, we're going up into the triple digits this weekend. Yeah, you just don't get that hot this time of year, but it is. Bring it on, that's what I say. Bring it on.

As long as there's air conditioning. Okay, we've got some new events coming up. We've got the Weeder Farm, Historic Farm, set up. We've got an investigation.

Saturday, July 31st at 8pm. Weeder Farm, tickets are available on Eventbrite and will be available on our eventsparanormal.com site and our current events. I'm super excited to do this one. We've investigated here before, so I'm stoked.

I'm looking forward to this. It looks like a great venue. We've been there and scoped it out and we're looking forward to that. Large outdoor.

It's going to have its own little elements to it as well, I believe. Walking around kind of in a forest type of atmosphere. A little bit different than being indoors. Yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun.

And then we're going to have a patrons insider event at Rock Canyon Park on August 14th at 8pm. And to attend this event, you have to be an insider patron. And you can do that by going out to Patreon and joining up the Supernatural Hour. And if you do that, the event is free for all of our patrons and the guests.

And if you don't do it, you can't come. Yep. So become a patron. We'd love to have you.

We'd love to have you come out to this fun event. We did Rock Canyon Park over a year ago and it was amazing and it's quite the experience. You know, we knew that was going to be active. But when we got there, the places that it was active was not.

But we found activity in obscure places, but it was really good activity. So I think this will be a lot of fun. And as Doc can tell you, lots of people get hurt and injured and killed up in Rock Canyon and doing all sorts of things. Give us a little update there.

All of the above. Lots of rock climbers. Lots of hikers. It's a beautiful canyon, but not without risk of any injury.

And if you get hurt in that canyon and go to the hospital, Doc might take care of you. It might be me. You might not know. I'll have no clue.

You might have something on you that says Doc, right? No one's going to even know. No one's going to even know. I don't know.

Maybe that voice sounded familiar, but that's about it. Yeah, incognito. And there is in addition to just hikers and rock climbers and people having issues up there. There's been some abductions and things that have taken place up there and also some Indian lore of Indian things that have just been like.

The legend of Squap-heak. That's why they call it that. That's why they call it that. So good place.

It's a body dumping ground too. If someone in this area kills you, that's one of the places you'll get dumped. Sounds like there's enough things to make this canyon spooky. And suicides.

I think there's a couple suicides there. Yeah. And by recently I'm talking like the 80s. Probably more recently than that.

Well, that's the last one I heard of. That kind of just aged us a little bit, right? Recently, the 1980s, you know, about 40 years ago. And things since then.

So that's what we've got with the upcoming investigations for the apps for the Advance Paranormal Group. So we're looking forward to those. All right. Well, we did have an investigation this week.

We got to go out to a warehouse in North Salt Lake where there was three, four different buildings that we went into, three buildings that we went into. Three. And they were big buildings. Very big buildings.

warehouses. Yeah. Technically we have access to five or six, but there's no way we could have done all five or six in one night. Right.

Right. And it was just a team thing. So we didn't have a bunch of. Yes.

Thank you. I lost my wording there. So it was kind of fun. It was just a team event.

But we got some really great evidence. And I don't know. We even have any of the evidence. I've been out on TikTok yet.

Probably by the time this airs. Yes. There is some evidence. I actually put some up that night.

And I've been out on the post that we found. I seen it on TikTok. Yeah. To one that was up in the rafters.

Up in the lights. No, the one that was on the office windows. Oh, that one too. So there's two of them up.

There's two of them up. There's two of them up. There's two of them up. So we have some additional equipment that was used on this.

I was going to say event, but this is not an event. Gosh, I thought I was awake today. Investigation. It was a team event.

It was a team event. So on this investigation, we had the SLS and with that SLS. What is an SLS? Well, to me, it is a connect system.

So I'm not a big into gamers. I don't know who makes the connect system. Xbox. Xbox.

And it's hooked to an iPad and it is able to notice people. However, it doesn't always just notice people and give you a figure as a stick figure. It notices other types of things that we call paranormal. Energies.

Energies. Paranormal energies. And if you look on TikTok, we actually have two of two things up there. That are from that.

And then I have another one that I'll probably post here in a day or two. So we should have three different. And we have one from the Barbary as well with the person. Yeah, that's one of the two.

Okay. And then on TikTok, we've got the one from the Barbary, one, the one up in the lights at the warehouse, and then we'll do that little squat short one from the warehouse. And that just makes it so interesting to actually put a form to what we're feeling and is to what's communicating with us through some of the other equipment. So I really kind of like that gadget.

We really put that gadget to work at this warehouse. Well, and then the thing that you can't really see in the pictures is that makes it validating to us is through other means, through dalting rods, through, you know, the- Hey, two meters. Just know. Those meter pro.

And then we determine that there's something there and then to see it manifest where we think it is and how we think it looks. Yeah. It's like, hey, whoa. Yeah.

We found with the thermal camera, which is also kind of new to us. We found a huge portal that was like the Metro station. So that I thought was really kind of interesting because these people are feeling things that are going on around there. But I don't think they had any idea that they've got a whole wall that's just a huge portal.

From the wall, we went over to the paint booth and in the paint booth that was really heavy and thick filled with energy. And that's where we were able to get that figure up in the ballast. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Oh, that room, I thought we're going to up all high. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. So they can't say that we were high since we have a picture, but you were doing some dowsing and talking with- did you give him a name?

Yes. Wasn't it a type three? It was a type three. You had a type three following you around.

And that was our visual of what we got when we- with the next picture you're playing out through, right? Y'all were huffing paint fumes that you were investigating. Were we were huffing paint fumes and talking to demons. There was like five 20 by 20 by 20 paint rooms for painting these huge booths and things that were done.

The manufacturing stuff that was amazing. Major presses with pressing out aluminum parts and bending them and making things for kiosks and all sorts of stuff. And that was like an adventure. Yeah.

And it's kind of cool to see how. I was like, oh, hey. This is where the stuff is from. Watching how it's made while doing a paranormal investigation.

Yes. That's pretty sweet. And that's what they do is custom formatting, custom design for things. That's an amazing, amazing process.

So was there anything else you wanted to say about the warehouse? Because that was one of the other buildings that we went into. I actually got to see an apparition. And I get to see apparitions very often.

And so I seen this apparition, which it was an older man and he was bent over his tool box. And after going out of that building, I came out and there was an employee who works there and she validated that a gentleman fitting that description had just passed away about a month ago and that's his workstation. And as soon as I seen him, he hurried up and just like ran around the corner and it happened within a split second. It wasn't something that was long term.

But that was pretty amazing for me. I love it when you have those random. I haven't seen in the 10 years that we've been doing this as WISPs and apps. I've probably only seen five or six, you know, apparitions.

Yeah. Some of them have been full body and they always come when you least expect it. Exactly. And then you say to yourself, did I just see that?

But it's kind of cool, huh? Yeah. Yeah. And then to be validated right after that.

Right. Yeah. So I think the other interesting thing there is, so there's three buildings. We just pretty much called them building one, two and three.

Right. And I felt like building one was the most active. And that's, I at least had the most interesting stuff in it. There was an office.

And you can tell that at this point it was no longer an office, like a storage area. Oops. Sorry. I dropped my phone.

It was kind of intentionally, but not to make that noise. And you went up there and you could just feel like there was a man in the corner just working as well guts out. Oh, and just watching the people. It was a safety office.

And so he could see the manufacturing site through the window and he was just sitting there watching people and you could just feel that he wasn't a nice man. I bet you didn't like working for him. We kind of like him to screw it. Just work, work, work, work, make control.

The other people worked kind of grumpy and we tried to make, he wouldn't talk to us. And so after some investigation, we determined it was more of a residual hunting as opposed to an intellectual hunting. Right. Because we even took one of our seers up there and he wasn't getting anything.

Right. So it was kind of cool to feel his energy. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't warm and fuzzy.

It was just cranky. It was cranky energy. Yeah. Scroogy.

Scroogy. I don't want to be at work. When I die, I want it to be like vacation stuff. Oh yeah.

I want to be at each. So you're going to leave your residual vacation energy around? Yeah. I don't want to be folding laundry forever.

You don't want to be folding laundry now. True. No one does. Laundry sucks.

I'm going to invent disposable clothing where it won't throw it away. A replicator. There you go. We need a replicator.

I'm going to replicate it. I wish I already made disposable clothes where it wants to throw it away. That's right. That's right.

But I don't like a dollar piece. Not my design. They didn't mean to make them disposable, but they are. They only last for one use.

Yeah. Might don't look good though. Okay. So that's something we talked about.

When we were there, there was a little type three that was following me around. Yeah. And I kind of think he followed me home. He's here.

I think he's here. I agree. Because some weird things have been happening in my house. So, and I do know that when we left, even though we tell people and we all the time say, you know, invite anything, you know, just say, hey, for the things following me, you have to stay home.

Halfway home. I realized we didn't do that. And I wasn't too worried about it. I thought, okay.

No, I've had a wreath fall off my wall. I've had lights turn on. So in my bedroom, I've got those little twinkle lights that go over the window because it's cute. They came on.

And the only way to really turn them on is to go down there and physically flip a switch or tell the Alexa to turn on. And I was alone in the bedroom and they just poof came on. And there's just been a couple other things that, interesting. I think I have to do some stuff in my own house.

So folks, when you leave an investigation, unlike me, don't forget to invite everything to stay at the location because if you forget stuff comes home. Yes. Good advice. And this won't be the first time something has come home with her.

And I don't mean me. I'm pretty sure there was a guy that followed you home one time. That's a creepy guy that follows me every time. And I'm very, very different.

So, yeah. So just make sure you cleanse yourself in whichever way you deem before you leave an investigation because it's not creepy so come home. So tonight we're going to talk about the Shanghai tunnels. I was really excited about this one.

It's a pretty creepy one. It was a tunnel to Shanghai. No. It's a long way to dig.

They're called the Shanghai tunnels. So they are in Portland. This has actually been on a couple different TV shows. I know ghost adventures.

It's actually the first time I heard of them. It was back in the day when I watched ghost adventures. I don't anymore. But as I was reading about this, a lot of people say, oh, there's not really any evidence that this actually happened.

But local folklore, I think there's a lot to be said for local folklore. And considering what was going on at the time and considering where these tunnels were and just different things, I think it happened. I think there's a lot of evidence that it happened because there were so many people getting off the ships to go to the gold fields and do those kinds of things that happens needed sailors. And that's the term when you hear the term Shanghai.

That's where that term came from. I was going to say the very least, it's plausible, right? If not likely. I think it's like the people that are saying that didn't have under trying to keep the city.

They're trying to keep Portland weird. No. Does it make Portland more weird? No.

More on the up and up. Right. Oh, no bad things couldn't happen here. So that's for prohibition.

And from the 1860s on, I mean, until we're not saying that people are getting Shanghai in the 2000s, at least not in that way. You never know. Yeah. Well, it said it went clear up to like the 1920s, 1917, something like that.

I mean, it went on for quite some time. Yeah, I read some stuff about even the prohibition era where the tunnels had been used, at least, you know, as a way that the Lloyd getting busted with alcohol. That speak easy down in them. Right.

So apparently it was built by some Chinese slave labor that had been brought in. So that's just started off with some bad juju. But they described these tunnels. I've never been there, but I'd like to go someday.

They describe these tunnels as like a root system, almost. And they just go everywhere under Portland. They were called the old Portland Underground for a while. And they connect hotels, basements, taverns.

And it goes along a river called the Willemett River. I believe. Willemett River. And at the time, Chinatown in this area was quite popular.

You know, it was quite the center for trade in the area. Originally, these tunnels were designed to store cargo and for transporting goods from like the buildings to the ships, you know, to avoid, you know, trying to get them downtown, trying to avoid 1860 traffic. Well, to keep the traffic off the street. So that stuff could move around and you're not impeding the traffic of the customers and everything else.

So they had literally these underground tunnels to transfer goods and materials between the buildings and from the shipyards. Right. And the city of Portland loved it because a lot of the business owners had the storage that wasn't taking up their storefront. You know, they just run down.

It reminds me a lot. We'll talk about it a little bit. I don't mind talking about it again in the future, but the tunnels, they're not called tunnels in Edinburgh, underground in Edinburgh. It seemed very, very similar.

Portland at the time was really small, but the port that was there was actually quite large. And so, you know, these cargo ships as they came across Pacific took months and months and sailors had a very short window of downtime between, you know, they'd get there, they'd unload it, they would reload it and off they'd go. So, you know, they would just be at sea forever. And so when they did get a chance to get off the ships, these sailors party it up and you can't blame them.

You've been stuck on a ship for months. You get on land. You go hit the saloon. You go, you go have some fun, right?

So you can't blame them. But some of these sailors would say, this whole shipping thing, this sucks. I'm out. They're gonna bail.

They're not coming back. Right, so they quit. So then you've got the ship saying, yeah, we got to, you know... We got half the crew we started with.

We got to get back. We got to, I had the fancy high-written record on the river. I got to put the sail again. And so, this is where kind of the Shanghai tunnels started.

People would go and they would kidnap people. They would Shanghai them. Get them super drunk. So they would be drunk for like 18 hours and take them to the ship.

And put them on the boat. They'd literally drop them through the floors into the tunnels. They were trap doors that they would literally drop these people through. And then scoot you on out to the port.

Well, and it was creepy. They would, you'd land on a mattress. They were, they were kind of nice. They don't want to hurt the car.

You don't need, you don't need me to pirate. But then they would take your shoes off. And they had broken glass around so that you couldn't just escape if you happened to wake up before you should. Before somebody got to you.

And guess how much they could get replacement sailors for? Like $550. I heard a solid $50. If you got someone that was really desperate, you could get about $55.

Oh, yeah. They were there. They sold actually a statue, a chief statue. I told them to not wake them up.

Cigars. The sediments. As a worker. Yeah.

That he was a large Indian worker and don't wake him up because if he wakes him up you don't know what he'll do and sold him for $75. So not only were the victims drunk but the people running the ship were pretty smart either. I'm sure they'd had a drop or two. They're pretty desperate.

Pretty desperate. What didn't cigar Indian guy? Yeah. So they threw him off the ship when they realized it.

And so he actually landed back in some port. He's up in some museum now. Oh, that's crazy. So some of the stories said that they would sell them to the British Navy.

I don't know. I think they were more on the cargo ships. The cargo ship's going back to China where Shanghai the term came from. But it was also called the press game.

But the Shanghai kind of stuck. Oh, yeah. Shanghai sounds cooler than the press game. Yeah, I was saying I got Shanghai.

It was like, that is well- than the press game. I got press gamed. That's more like you're in the gin. Get those pegs looking nice.

I got press gamed. Yeah, that's all right. That's like getting a swole. Now we're talking about getting Shanghai.

So you remember how I said most of this happened up until about 1917? I was wrong. I checked my notes. It went from 1850 to 1941.

Holy cow. Right before the war. The same thing we're recruiting for World War II in these tunnels. Maybe.

You're off to go fight the Japanese now. Yeah, we had other things I'd have to think about. Geez, 41. So as far as, you know, we talked about the sailors, but later, then they started doing other things, like human trafficking.

They would grab women and sell them as prostitutes. Children, you know, to work as slaves at homes. And I'm sure also human trafficking. I don't even like to think about it.

So yeah, just got nasty. Yeah, yeah, nasty. And all the images I've seen in a video, I mean, they are dark. They're all McDonald's.

I mean, there's very limited light coming into those places. But they're made with red brick. The ones I've seen were all made with red brick. I mean, there's a lot of time that has been put into building those.

They're not going anywhere. Right. And I also read a couple of places that have closed them off because Portland is trying to be cleaner about it and trying to say that they don't do what they do. And so I think that they're going to be able to do what they do.

And so some of them have been shut off. Nothing like whitewashing your history. Your favorite. Yeah.

Well, and then not only about the time that they, you know, branched out from just men from the cargo ships, they started building cells down there and just housing people in these cells. So they're being welcomed. Yeah, they're already down here. Let's just put some bars up.

People storage. That's right. And then the Chinese gangsters would start, you know, the different gangs. They would have their own separate little tunnels.

You know, this is the this gang tunnel and that is the back gang tunnel and probably had some conflicting gang wars. So they would also sneak in immigrants. They would sneak in goods products. They would sneak in drugs.

They had brothels, bars, gambling layers. It was just literally a den of anything. I heard opium den. Opium den's were kind of a big thing back then to where they go up and smoke a bunch of opium and then black out and then a bunch of it.

But yeah, in Chinatown, that was like the thing to do. And I guess so is that how they'd be knocked out for 13 or 18 hours, whatever. I don't remember what it was, but they were trying to keep them knocked out. So they wouldn't jump off the ship and try to swim back.

I was reading between the alcohol and the opium. I'm sure there was plenty of sedation coming in there. Well, and then they said that they'd pack these people in these things like sardines and because it was underground and dark, there wasn't a lot of air. And so I wonder how many of them just passed out because there wasn't that much air, right?

Or even died. They said some people would escape, you know, even with no shoes and a glass on the floor, but they were easily found because the captors would just follow the blood trails. Oh, yeah. That sounds painful.

It does. I step on one little glass jar and I'm like, I'm done. I'm done. I'm hopping around like I'm half dead.

Yeah. I'm just thinking about how much dark energy or bad juju there's gotta be sitting around the tunnel, right? I was gonna say, I thought you were gonna say I'm just thinking how many stitches I would take. Oh, go.

And foreign body removals and sutures I was gonna take. No, I bet the, it's just so dark down there. I bet the activity down there is crazy. Well, when I go to Portland, whenever that is, it's gonna be on my list.

So as far as this crazy energy, let's get into that. Spooky story time. Spooky story time. All right.

So lots of people are going to be able to see the whole thing. Oh, I've been to Portland, but it was a work trip. So people that have walked out of state that they've heard moans, they've heard screaming, they've heard sounds of crying, and so all of that seems to fit what goes on pretty well. I'm sure a lot of it's residual.

You know, like the guy that we had in the warehouse. Yeah, because a lot of that kind of stuff can be residual. But there are some intelligent hauntings down there. And so I think that's a lot of the things that we've been able to see.

And I think that's a lot of the things that we've been able to see. And I think that's a lot of the things that we've been able to see. So that kind of stuff can be residual. But there are some intelligent hauntings down there.

And the opinion that most people have of the hauntings that are intelligent and not the residual is that they realize they've been trapped and they don't know how to get out. And so they're screaming and crying and calling out for help to get out of these tunnels. And I just think that would be sad. I would much rather be a ghost to folding laundry than trapped in order.

Tract in order. Absolutely trying to get out. I don't know. You holding folding laundry is pretty much a horror.

It is. Towns are fine. I don't mind folding towels. I have four laundry baskets full that need to be folded for the dog wash.

All details. We roll. We roll. That's fine.

We roll. Genes aren't bad either. Tiles, genes, anything else. Anything that lacks any degree of symmetry.

It's not my thing. Oh, socks never. How does this go? I will never fold a sock.

Unless I move a towel and there's a match just laying there together. Oh, finding matches is terrible. Okay, back to Shanghai. So a lot of visitors have just reported feeling a bad feeling.

Shocker. Some have said that they have seen apparitions in the area. Just walking back and forth. Some visitors have said they've felt a hand placed on their back or their neck.

They've had lights go on and off, doors open and shut. They've heard footsteps. So a lot of just your typical ghost stuff that you would expect to hear. Some visitors are warned that their cameras will malfunction in the tunnels.

And when they come back up onto the street level, their cameras are working again. And we've had that happen on the vestige. That's normal. Visitors will report that their batteries are drained.

And then there's one ghost. And I do think they talk about this on ghost adventures. I think that one. But other people have also mentioned a young boy's ghost and his name is Joshua.

And he's believed to be a nine year old and he was an orphan and he was hired to every chamber pots and buckets in the cells. I thought that's an awesome job for a nine year old. But for the time, if you need money, you need money, right? And he's still stuck there doing that.

Apparently he's still stuck there doing that. So people have seen his ghost and sometimes he will hold visitors hands. Oh, thank you. Yeah, but don't you think though knowing what you know and how to do what you do, you would go and help him to cross over?

Why hasn't someone helped him cross over? I don't know because it's cute when he comes home. But then there's also that in see a cute nine year old, right? I mean, I wouldn't bring him home with me.

No, exactly. So you think of all, I don't know, this is my personal opinion. So if you're listening to a different opinion, that's great. The beauty of life, you can have different opinions.

I think if it's a nine year old boy, he probably crossed over. Yeah, I just, that's what I think. And he just keeps coming back to go to work? I think the most likely thing, all the dark stuff that happened in those tunnels is most likely a type 3.

Trying to tell you it's a nine year old boy trying to get you to take it home with you or just mess with you while you're there. I think it's more likely. Makes a type 3. All right.

I will bet that at least one ghost investigation group has tried to cross that ghost over. Probably. You would think. At least one, right?

I mean. Or maybe the original actual little boy ghost got crossed over in the 19th century and there's something else at it like that. Right? Exactly.

Yeah. All sorts of scenarios we can do with. If I go there and little Joshua holds my hand, he's not coming up with me. Just don't forget to tell him that.

I'm right. I leave an offer to take out your chamber pot, but don't do it. Don't take him up on the offer. If he offers the full melonjourmy.

Ooh. A laundry full to ghost. I'm kidding. I'm kidding.

He's hired. So let's see. There's another ghost there that's actually quite popular. She's got quite a story.

Her name is Nina. It looks like it's Nina, but as I've read a lot of different things, it was pronounced Nina. So Nina is connected to the tunnel that hooks to the merchant hotel and it actually had a good reputation. But if you knew the right person to talk to, this hotel could provide you with a lady of honey.

And apparently Nina was one of these ladies of the evening. So she was actually sold into prostitution through this whole Shanghai slave trade. And she became a, and every website you read about this says something like working woman with parentheses around it at the merchant hotel. So there she is, working, doing her thing.

And submissionaries came and they convinced her to rat out some powerful crime bosses in an attempt to get the neighborhood up and up. Got to clean that place up. Yeah, so she's working as a spy. And so she says, and you know, she's not doing this just out of the goodness of her heart.

There's a reason for this. So they said, you know, if you were able to rat these out, we'll get you out of this life and get you back into a good life. You know, because you didn't choose this life. You were sold into it.

But it wasn't very long after she said we're on to this. We'll do this that she was founded in the hotel. She'd actually been pushed down an elevator shaft to her death. And her ghost is still there.

No one really knows what happened to her. But apparently someone found out she was trying to rat him out. And they didn't like that very much. So these days it's called the Old Town Pizza.

That's where the hotel was. It was the Old Town Pizza. Is that close she got squished flat? I don't know.

That's sad. What a way to view that. So now it's pizza because she was squished flat. Why did they do that?

She ate Mal. She was dark at. She Italian. But if you go eat pizza at the Old Town pizzeria, I think it's just called Old Town Pizza.

They report that they feel like someone's watching them. Some people say that they smell a floral scent. And they're just told, they mentioned this. They're told, oh, it's just nina.

And this is one reason why we tell you if you come on an investigation with us, don't wear perfume. And coming from me, I will put perfume on a day that I plan to be in my pajamas all day long, folding laundry. I love wearing perfume. I love my perfume.

It's very, very hard for me not to put perfume on when I go to an investigation. But this is a story of why we don't do that. Because you can sense the spirit sometimes through smell. That makes sense.

I mean, sometimes they appear and sometimes you hear them. And why wouldn't you smell them from time to time? Right. People that have said, my so-and-so uncle, grandma, whatever, you know, smoked a lot and no one in the house smokes.

But every once in a while we can smell cigarette smoke over by her chair. Right. Or a certain perfume like in the story. So, yeah, just a little side note, when you go on an investigation, don't wear your perfume.

And don't smoke. I quit wearing perfume five years ago because I don't think that's good for dogs. I'm with dogs too much and they're high and sense of smell. I'm like, yeah, they don't like that.

Not like that. Well, I'm on better because it's like brushing your teeth. You can't function without perfume. So there's one booth at the back of the restaurant that sits next to a pretty thick brick wall that was once the elevator shaft.

And they believe it's probably the elevator shaft that she was found in. But they said that her name often appears mysteriously written on the wall. And they can't account for how it got there. It'll just appear randomly sometimes.

So maybe we need to go have some pizza. I kind of think we do. That would be fun. Explore some Shanghai tunnels.

Go eat some pizza with Nina. Yeah. I think we should do it for a weekend. Sounds like a pretty sweet setup.

I like it. And you've never been to the Pacific Northwest. Yeah, we need to go. Never have.

Oh, investigation opportunity. Okay. I'm calling for a trip. I've never been to Oregon or Washington, but I've been to Boston.

What is that about? Questions to have the budget? Hmm. We sign up the patreon.

Find a way. We've given up on buying our ghost town. Now we need to go to Portland. Come on, people.

Right. We still need the ghost town. So she has actually been seen for over 150 years at the Old Town Pizza, off and on by different people. So Old Town Pizza has been there for 150 years.

Or the motel. Just together. So there's just been like people have just talked about it for a minute. So it says if I were to read the notes for babe, I'm at this location.

At this location. So not a restaurant for a sec. Right. But the building.

I mean I don't doubt that Old Town Pizza is old, but I don't think it's 150 years old. Probably. At least we would hope that the pizza we got was about 150 years old. I've had some for a little scissors that were probably a good 20 years old.

But the whole way down. She's described as tall. She's wearing a long black dress and she has a lovely smile. She's often seen walking down the stairs and she's also seen in the restaurant overlooking the diners as they eat.

Sounds nice. I'd say hi. I'd say hi. I'd say hey.

That looks like a pretty good pizza. I wonder if it's as good as the pie. Hmm. There's not many places I think there's as good as the pie.

So if you're not from Utah, the pie pizzeria is, in my opinion, the best pizza on the day. It's super good. It's really good. So yeah, if it's as good as the pie, I can see her overlooking it.

What do you, I don't think I've ever eaten. What? There's no more than one location. Okay.

Okay. Okay. We have to have, we have to take her to the pie. The one on campus.

The one on campus? Yeah. We have to go to that one. Well, same as the original right.

Okay, go to that one. Fine. There's a bunch closer. That's like the furthest of the whole thing.

The proximity beats out. Okay. We've got to get you some pie. Okay.

The best pizza on the planet. Okay. So, um, sometimes our operation is spotted beneath the restaurant in the basement where one of the open Shanghai tunnels is still located. I think some of them are closed off and probably dangerous, but one that you can still get into is down there and people see are down there.

So at some point we need to go and see if we can check this out. I agree. Let's do it. So I've got a little side note about underground tunnels.

Okay. You know that there's some underground tunnels in Provo, Utah. Oh. I think there used to be a restaurant down on Center Street called The Underground.

Oh, I've been there. Okay. There was a reason it was called The Underground. They had good spomone.

They did. And they had kind of the 1930s gangster. Well, Tief. Then you could eat in a gangster car.

Uh-huh. And there were actually downstairs in there where there were the tunnels. You grew up in Provo and everyone to the underground? I don't even, was this thing still around?

Right on Center Street. I think it closed down before he was of age. I think when I went, when I was in high school. There you go.

Yeah. But there are some tunnels like that under the Center Street in Provo, under those buildings where there were some things back and forth. Was it for the light rail that was in Provo at one time? I don't know if it was for the light rail.

It was more, when I was saying more rugged, it was more like just foundations and things like that. But I think there might still be some ways to get through down. Were there mattresses in Broken Glass down there? No.
