Shannon Allen, Associate Athletics Director of Compliance at Livingstone College, joins Monique A. J. Smith for A Chat in the Garden

Shannon Allen was named the Associate Athletics Director of Compliance in August 2023.She returns to her alma mater after serving as the head volleyball coach and Senior Woman Administrator at Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. While there she oversaw the volleyball program.In addition, as a part of the administrative staff she was in charge of department fundraising that included a partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers, transportation, supervision of the Athletic Training staff, and was the advisor of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee.Allen served as the head volleyball and softball coach at Livingstone College from 2017-2021. She coached at Southern Vance, Ben L. Smith, and Hillside High School. She also coached with the Jammer Volleyball Club.As a student-athlete at Livingstone College, she saw success as a member of the first 20-win Volleyball team in school History. She was also selected as a member of the All-Tournament and All-Conference teams. Allen was a member of the Volleyball and Softball teams all four years. Upon graduation, she held the school record for assists.Allen received a Bachelor of Social Work from Livingstone College in 2011.
