Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby: shibaguyzdesignz

from Yarn Thing: Crochet and Knitting Podcast | Blog Talk Radio Feed

Start with two regular guys from the country, add a love of all things food and cooking, mix in some mind-blowing small space gardening skills and a penchant for fashion design and what you get is the can-do duo of the Shibaguyz. From their home base of Seattle, Washington, Jason and Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby run a successful business that includes everything from gardening and cooking classes to fashion design and publishing. "We're just a couple of regular guys… if we can do it, so can you!"  This is the mantra of the Shibaguyz that carries through all of their classes.  Small steps and basic skills combined to create a lifestyle is how the Shibaguyz approach teaching, cooking, design and life in general. In recent news, the Shibaguyz have published two booklets of patterns through Leisure Arts Publications.  The first, Heady Affairs, is a booklet filled with hat patterns that are decidedly modern, hip, and fun to make and wear.  The second booklet, titled That's A Wrap!, encompasses a number of trendy wrap style garments to crochet.   It is scheduled to release soon.  Never content to leave well enough alone, the Shibaguyz are also just now putting the finishing touches on two larger books for Leisure Arts both of which will be available early 2012.  Crochet fashions with a downtown style are what you will find in Urban Edge.  Also look for 50 fast and easy recipes in their cookbook Ya Gotta Eat:Cookin With The Shibaguyz. **Stay up to date on the Yarn Thing Podcast with the App, now available on iTunes and for Droid.  **Find out more about Marly at www.marlybird.com **The Yarn Thing Podcast is sponsored by: Knitter's Magazine
