Her research includes safety policy, sustainability, and aviation workforce development including the outreach, recruitment, and retention of women and underrepresented groups in aviation. She has over 25 publications in a variety of academic journals, magazines, and book submissions. Dr Lutte was appointed by the former Secretary of the DOT to the FAA Women in Aviation Advisory Board which developed recommendations and strategies to the FAA and Congress to encourage women to pursue careers in aviation.
