In today’s episode, Angelina Carleton speaks with Martha Stice, a 6th generation family shareholder of Siemer Milling Co., a leading processor of soft wheat flour in the US. She is the founding chair of the Siemer Family Council, and a director of Siemer Milling. While her primary focus has been the care and education of her 5 children, a touchstone of Martha’s vocation is community development and group governance. In numerous venues, she has worked to bring people together to both share life and also accomplish group goals. Her most important effort to date has been the collaborative effort to develop the Siemer Family Council and chair its work to see the extended Siemer shareholding family come closer together, carrying their shared values into the next generation. Martha graduated from Baylor University with a Masters in Social Work. She has also completed the Family Governance Leadership Institute at Loyola University, Chicago.
