She enjoyed it but stopped when her school didn't offer it in fifth grade. Years later, at 33, she decided to join the military and started running again to get in shape. She lost weight, joined the National Guard, and continued running. Sharonda's commitment to consistency in her running routine is a valuable lesson she's learned. Her favorite running memory is participating in the Ragnar Atlanta trail run, despite injuring her ankle during the race. Sharonda views the experience as a positive challenge and opportunity for growth. She doesn't have a worst race experience, as she finds fun and learning in each race. Her running goals include completing a half marathon. Sharonda's running mantra is "You can do hard things," and she enjoys 5K and 10K races. Besides running, she loves biking and traveling. The conversation ends with an appreciation for her military service and a promise to stay connected despite her upcoming deployment. They reflect on the supportive running community and encourage others to start and have fun with running.Sharonda ShulaRaces MentionedCrime Prevention 5kJoe Cain ClassicRagnar Trail RunBattleship 12kShout OutsKristen RatherDerrick WilliamsFresh Junkie RacingSupport the showFor more details on Run Your Story happenings, visit https://runyourstory.com/For web development or tech services, visit https://gaillardts.com/Go Run Your Story and take a piece of this story with you!
