On 12 June students from Shawlands Academy organised a special eco-conference to celebrate the work of a three-year project partnering them with schools in Sweden, France and Cyprus. The Comenius project was sponsored by the European Union and was called "How to be an active citizen in a clean Europe". This is the final year of the project but the students' work continues. They want to show their commitment to environmental awareness by following the eco-school programme. The Shawlands Academy project has been widely reported on TV and press - including the G41 newspaper - and has won five accolades including an international award for European languages. After listening to our podcast, you can click here to find out more about the impressive work done by the school as part of the Comenius project.
