Shawn Simmons: On Wayne, Eenie Meanie and the Shared Lunacy of Boston and Philadelphia Sports Fans

This week, Becky welcomes acclaimed writer/director Shawn Simmons, who also happens to be the creator of one of her all-time favorite TV shows, Wayne. They chat about Shawn’s journey from his bootstrap upbringing in Brockton, Massachusetts to landing on the Paramount lot right after college, the life-changing experience of making his masterpiece, Wayne - and the surreal moment when he found out the network was canceled (not the show…the network!) before he could make a second season, and what it was like directing his first big-budget feature film last year, Eenie Meanie. Plus, Becky and Shawn bond over the shared lunacy of Boston and Philadelphia sports fans—and why they’re both strangely grateful for that specific brand of insanity.Host: Becky SloviterGuest: Shawn Simmons - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3178429/If you enjoyed this podcast, please follow, share, like, comment, all the things - thank you for your support!Check out our episodes on YouTube as well! https://www.youtube.com/@generalmeetingpodInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/generalmeetingpod/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@generalmeetingpodWebsite: https://www.generalmeetingpod.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
