Shaw’s Decision Shapes Badgers’ Future

Wisconsin’s football program is in a fierce battle for four-star tackle Alijah Shaw, a 6-foot-8, 275-pound Kansas recruit set to announce his decision today at 3 PM CT. The Badgers compete with Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Boston College, with Arkansas favored at over 94% by recruiting analysts — leaving Wisconsin at a slim 1.7%. Shaw’s recent campus visit coincided with other recruits committing, signaling a strong recruiting weekend for Wisconsin. Despite the odds, offensive line coach Eric Mateos is earning credit for putting Wisconsin in contention for elite talent. This race underscores the high stakes and unpredictability of college football recruiting — where even the best coaching can’t guarantee the top recruit, but can build a foundation for future dominance.
