شب چله طولانی‌ترین شب سال را به همه‌ی ایرانیان شادباش می‌گوییم.بسیاری نام این شب را یلدا می‌خوانند. یلدا واژه‌‌‌‌ای سریانی به‌معنای زایش است؛ طولانی‌ترین شب سال آبستن ایزد مهر نیز بوده است. شب یلدا زادروز خدای عهد و پیمان و نور، مهر می‌باشد.اما چرا ایزد مهر اینچنین میان نیاکان ما بزرگ داشته می‌شده است.
