She Came From the Woods (2022) Horror Movie Review | Geekz 31 Days of Horror – 80s Camp Slasher Throwback or Missed Scare?

The Geekz head back to summer camp for another killer entry in our 31 Days of Horror marathon with She Came From the Woods (2022) — a bloody love letter to 80s slashers filled with campfire scares, synth vibes, and over-the-top carnage. When a group of counselors accidentally awaken an evil spirit during their last night at camp, what starts as a fun prank turns into a night of supernatural revenge and gory mayhem. In our review, we break down the film’s nostalgic tone, practical effects, and strong performances from Cara Buono(Stranger Things), William Sadler (Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey), and Spencer List. We’ll also talk about how director Erik Bloomquist blends humor, heart, and horror in a way that both honors and pokes fun at classic 80s slashers. Does She Came From the Woods earn its place among modern camp horror greats — or should it have stayed in the woods?
