In which our travellers emerge from treacherous marshland onto a vast and fertile plain dominated by a magnificent volcanic mountain, revealing both the grandeur of a lost civilisation and the solemnity of its ancient works. Blindfolded and led through echoing tunnels beneath the mountain’s sheer cliffs, they are ushered into vast rock-hewn caverns adorned with strange sculptures and guarded by silent sentinels, marking their entry into a mysterious and secretive realm.
