Welcome back to another episode of The Mama Village podcast! Today, I have a truly inspiring story to share with you. We are joined by Shelby, a breathwork practitioner and prenatal yoga teacher, who takes us on a remarkable journey through her three pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences. Shelby and her husband started their family journey in the winter of 2017. They were blessed with their first baby, Ollie, in September 2018. Shelby's first labour, though long and challenging, taught her invaluable lessons about trust and the birthing process. Shelby's second birth experience brought new challenges and realisations. With a focus on softening intensity and embracing the golden hour, she navigated labour with the help of a doula however, it ultimately led to an emergency C-section. Shelby's third birth, was nothing short of transformative. With the power of Rebirthing Breathwork Mastery, Shelby prepared herself physically and mentally for a vaginal birth after caesarean. Her journey was filled with active labour positions, home birth preparations, and an incredible doula. Despite initial challenges, Shelby trusted her body and embraced the process, resulting in the home birth of her third daughter, Jindy. This birth was a testament to her growth, trust in birth, and the profound impact of breathwork. Shelby feels that each of her birth experiences imparted valuable lessons, leading her to the empowering moment of birthing her third baby at home. This transformative experience has changed her family's birth imprint and lineage, as her older daughters witnessed their baby sister being born at home. Shelby's journey underscores the importance of trust, resilience, and the power of intentional preparation. Join us as Shelby shares her candid and heartfelt story, including her experiences with pregnancy varicose veins, and the joy of bringing new life into the world. Her journey is a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and beauty of motherhood. Don’t forget that if you like the show, please subscribe and leave a review on your podcast platform.
