Shelly Fabares, Double-Features at The Movies, and Ford Mustang Turns 50.

Welcome to this episode of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site! This time, we look back to the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. The innovative little car was an instant hit, and became a beloved symbol of Americana. We all have memories of seeing these great cars around throughout the years. It was a sporty, economical, vehicle and the original models are very collectible today. Join us as we look back and share memories of this iconic car. Next we salute Shelley Fabares, who turned 70 earlier in 2014. We remember Shelley's career in television, notably her role as Mary Stone on the Donna Reed show. We also listen to her hit tune "Johnny Angel". We update you on John Coleman, who guested on our program in 2013. John retired a few months ago, and we let you know what he's been up to. Although he has retired, he still remains active on line and we tell you how to see his blog posts. Finally, we look back at the golden age of Double Features. Remember going to the movie theater and watching two movies for the price of one? Double Features were a common event at theaters for many years. How did these Double Features come into being? There's a whole business side to this history but audiences benefitted by having a whole evening's entertainment for a very low price. Listen in and find out. Our Retro Commercials are for the Ford Mustang, and for Peter Paul Mounds candy bars. Join us on Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, on the Galaxy Nostalgia Network!
