Hi and welcome back to the daily study. We are continuing with the last and final reading of Parshot Shumat This is the Shabbat reading so Moses left Kichro and set out for Egypt As God had predicted when Moshe demanded that Pharaoh release the Jews even for three days Pharaoh refused and instead Pharaoh ordered that the Jews no longer be supplied with straw to make into bricks But now they would have to produce the same daily quote of bricks But they would have to gather all the different materials by themselves and the Jews complained to Moses and Moses felt the Jews suffering And he turned to God and he asked why did you send me on this mission if this is the result? Let's look inside of the verse by a shot. Mosheh al-Ashab by Yomair denied la maha Rotah la amazeba go mare and Moses returned to God and said God why have you mistreated this people?

So here we see that God is that Moses is questioning God But is he really questioning God? We know that Moses had very strong faith in God and we know that Moses's faith was inherited from the Patriarch's or matriarchs so is he questioning God what's going on here? So deep down Moses was actually not questioning God, but he was Trying to understand God's justice and Moses and the Jewish people had inherited their faith from Abraham Isaac and Jacob And therefore their faith was very strong, but in order to be redeemed from Egypt and receive the Torah It was not enough for their relationship with God to be an inheritance from their ancestors But they had to make it their own so only when a person internalizes his faith and makes it his own can it permeate his whole being Ironically the way we transform our inheritance faith into our possessions is by questioning it Not out of doubt or for the mere sake of questioning, but in order to truly understand it So in response to Moses desire to understand God's ways God told him that the purpose of the exile was to enable the people to reach an even higher level of divine consciousness Then they could be relying solely on their inheritance from the patriarchs So we learn from the daily study that Moses was actually not questioning God's ways because that would show a lack of faith from his end Rather he was questioning God's justice in order to deepen and strengthen his own faith And we learn that it's not enough to receive the faith from our patriarchs and matriarchs but rather we need to question our lives and question God's ways not from a place of doubt but from a place of wanting to understand and getting close to him and Sometimes the answer to our own question is that we know that we don't understand his ways and that in itself strengthens Our faith for it limits logic and leaps directly onto faith and that was it for Shabbat's daily study
