Sheriff Cracks Down on Street Racing | Jacksonville News

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office ramps up enforcement against illegal street racing, shutting down events on the Westside and in Mandarin over two weekends. Deputies arrested 12 people, towed 4 vehicles, and issued 52 traffic citations—including to passengers and spectators. The crackdown comes as part of a broader safety message: street racing isn’t harmless fun—it’s deadly. With 119 preventable traffic deaths already this year, authorities are sending a clear warning: don’t risk lives—or your freedom.
