Sheriff's office clarifies use of donated BC radios

The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office is clari­fying how recently donated surplus radios from Brigham City will be used and how they relate to previously approved county radio upgrades. The Brigham City Council on Feb. 5 approved a resolution declaring certain two-way radio equipment surplus and authorizing its dona­tion to Box Elder County. During that meeting, council members were told the radi­os were encrypted and could help maintain communica­tion between county depu­ties and city officers, and that the donation would allow the county to avoid a previ­ously approved ,000 radio expenditure.
