He also announced the Deputies of the Month.I. Stats (1:00)There are currently 446 inmates in the jail with 101 of those being out-of-county contract inmates.II. Jailer Arrested (2:03)Sheriff Hillhouse said his Office suspended, investigated, and arrested a jailer who worked at the Henderson County Jail.Timothy Grosskopf, 42, was arrested Friday, Oct. 8, on a charge of Official Oppression for violating an inmate’s civil rights while he was at work.According to the Sheriff, Grosskopf conspired with inmates to have another inmate assaulted.III. Dog Killed (4:55)A Trinidad man was arrested by one of Sheriff Botie Hillhouse’s Deputies Sunday for shooting his neighbor’s dog. William Harper, 56, was charged with a felony for Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animal after he shot a dog with a rifle, belonging to a neighbor, who called the Sheriff’s Office.Sheriff Hillhouse said the suspect claimed the dog was over on his property, but the deputy investigating the incident found the dog was shot on its owner's property."There was never any other reports of this dog being vicious," Sheriff Hillhouse said.IV. Deputies of the QuarterSheriff Hillhouse announced the Deputies of the 3rd quarter of 2021. Deputy Eduardo Gonzalez, Detention Sgt. Gwen Miller, and Communications Officer Milinda Wood were all recognized and given certificates for their outstanding service to the Sheriff’s Office. "These three kind of stood out and have been helping us in a stressful time when we're short-handed," Sheriff Hillhouse said. This is a public episode.
