Sherlock Holmes - Blarney Stone

from Old Time Radio Listener · host Sara Welch

Blarney Castle is an imposing 15th century ruin a few miles outside the town of Cork and this is where “The Blarney Stone ” is situated. The stone itself is considered to be a powerful talisman and whoever kisses it, is endowed with eloquence for life. Holmes and Watson are enjoying a drink in the local hostelry when a gentleman by the name of Geoffrey Hankin introduces himself and his partner Michael Corcoran. An argument ensues between the partners and a bet is made, that Hankin dare not kiss the blarney stone. Holmes feels there is something not quite right with the wager and agrees to act as referee to make certain things are done correctly, but dastardly deeds are on the cards. . .  Duration: 28:59  Starring: Basil Rathbone  Broadcast Date: 18 March 1946
