Sherlock Holmes - The Adventure of the Tolling Bell
from Old Time Radio Listener · host Sara Welch
This tale takes place in the beautiful English countryside. The story begins in small country village, they were there for a few days rest after solving a case before going back to Baker Street. They were staying in small but comfortable inn. Early in the morning of the third day as they began their morning ritual, they heard the nearby church bell tolling a funeral bell. Holmes then reflects on the history of bells tolling for numerous reasons. It seems that the girl bringing in some supplies seems very upset by the funeral going on, and this, of course, intrigues Dr. Watson, and will surely find out more of that tolling bell, or shall I say the reason and people for which it tolls. Duration: 25:21 Starring: Tom Conway Broadcast Date: 7th April 1947
