Shine Bright

from Embracing Abundant Life · host Dr. Avis Sparks

Shine Bright God’s People shine because God first shone on them. Believers are redeemed to walk in that light and display God’s character (love, grace, mercy) so others can see Him and come to salvation through Christ. Believers are chosen and brought out of darkness to be living proof of God’s mercy and Christ’s saving power. We must examine our hearts, desires, and actions. Do we giveoff “light” or “darkness” in our everyday life, because our lives should draw people toward Christ, not push them away through hypocrisy. Because the flesh can crave darkness, believers must daily choose to remain in God’s light and ask Him for healing where desire is misplaced. Staying in the light means communion and intimacy with the Father, not just external service; Revelation’s warning is used to show that losing “first love” can cost thelampstand (spiritual illumination/anointing). Walking in the light as a call to love and connection with God—the Source—so our lives are illuminated and others are blessed.
