Shining Together for Every Star | Jamaica News
from Jamaica News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
When her son was diagnosed with autism, Tabika Bowerbank felt lost—until she found the resources she needed abroad. Determined to help families back home in Jamaica, she founded Spectrum Stars JA, a grassroots movement built on love, advocacy, and inclusion. Their first big event, “Shining Together, Supporting Every Star,” is set for October 24th at Noranda Sports Centre in Discovery Bay, St Ann, bringing the community together to celebrate children on the autism spectrum. Bowerbank believes every child has unique strengths—and that differences in communication or behavior don’t mean lack of potential. Her journey as a mother turned into a mission: creating spaces where every child can thrive, shine, and be seen for who they truly are.
