Shiny Penny Syndrome

from Success Suite Hosted by Julie Hogbin

I’ve been playing at it because I didn’t have a wealth mindset’ Julie is reflecting on the tumultuous change she has gone through over the last few years and how this has impacted on her values system. On leaving her business partnership she experienced a loss of power, control and a loss of a sense of about who she was. Following this Julie had shiny penny syndrome and in this episode, she explores how values and beliefs are impacted by our experiences and offers great advice on how to move forward positively. KEY TAKEAWAYS If your values are not in alignment with what you want to do you will probably struggle to achieve your goals If you don’t have a value for creating wealth how easy are you going to find it to charge for your services and ask people for money? If you don’t love yourself how can you love someone else or allow them to love you? You can’t change what’s happened but you can change the way you respond to it To make the change you have to understand what’s happened We all have a voice in our head that comes from our inner conscious it keeps you where it thinks you are safe within a set of limiting beliefs. If you don’t get your values in alignment then everything you try and achieve will be so much harder. What is a value and what comes first value or belief? If you value something it can create a belief, if you believe in something it can create a value. Values and beliefs are interchangeable BEST MOMENTS ‘I have an idea and I react’ ‘I haven’t marketed it because I just want to help people it’s about values and vision’ Your values are huge, immense all-encompassing ‘My goals were those hairy arsed scary goals that were huge’ VALUABLE RESOURCES Conscious Leadership Podcast The Life-Changing Magic of Setting Goals book by Julie Hogbin The Authorities - Julie Hogbin: Powerful Wisdom from Leaders in the field book by Julie Hogbin, Raymond Aaron, Marci Shimoff, Dr John Gray ABOUT THE HOST Julie Hogbin I started my career within the accountancy profession, moving on into auditing, then Learning & Development where I havespent over 30 years.
