Shooting Aerochrome with Rob Walwyn
from Matt Loves Cameras · host Matt Murray
In episode 52 of Matt Loves Cameras I talk to Australian film photographer Rob Walwyn. Rob’s upcoming solo exhibition Karrkins documents the aftermath of the devastating 2019-20 bushfires that took place in New South Wales. I’m sure many of you have seen images or footage of how those bushfires devastated Australia’s east coast, but what makes Rob’s images even more striking is his use Kodak’s false-colour infrared film Aerochrome. Today we’ll be talking about how rob got into photography, when he first discovered Aerochrome, his tips for shooting infrared film, the cameras Rob uses, and of course details of his exhibition which is taking place from 24-28 November 2021 in Sydney.
