The term tenkara describes the method of fishing from Japan. But, increasingly it is also a part of the name of different tenkara rod companies entering the market. When Tenkara USA introduced tenkara outside of Japan in 2009 it was hard to expect the number of companies that would be created in the coming years to market tenkara rods.
