SHOT OF NOSTALGIA #2.5: ECW 1995 | ENTER SANDMAN | TPE/PITBULLS Dog Collar Match; ALFONSO gets HEAT!

THIS FRIDAY, is the fifth episode of our journey through ECW 1995. Episode 5 of Season 2 is this upcoming Friday and as per usual ACEFIELD RETRO returns with MIKE BELCASTER to volley about a fantastic happening. We take on ENTER THE SANDMAN 1995 and will breeze through all of the HARDCORE TV results from where we last left off to continue building some much-needed context for our journey into ECW's influential year. What will be our opinion on the event? We get another match between SANDMAN & SHANE DOUGLAS for the ECW title as he defends the championship. He wrestled Cactus earlier in the night so will he worn down and lose the title? We also have another classic between DEAN MALENKO & EDDY GUERRERO for the TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP. It was omitted from the VHS release but EDDY pulled double duty because CHRIS BENOIT was supposed to wrestle MARTY JANNETTY but had to pull out due to his wife being in a car accident earlier in the day. We also have a BARBED WIRE BASEBALL BAT between IAN ROTTEN & AXL ROTTEN in what should be a macabre dream. In the main event, PUBLIC ENEMY will defend their TAG TITLES against the PITBULLS in a DOUBLE DOG COLLAR MATCH! (How appropriate!). That's capped at the end of the night with the debut of LUNA VACHON! As usual, we do the thumbing into Dave Meltzer's newsletter as it happened in real-time to bring in CONTEXT and help us submerge ourselves completely back to 1995 to gather an understanding of what the wrestling world was like as ECW was continuing to expand into what we eventually saw it become.
