Shotgun Vanished for 13 Years | Belfast News

A pump-action shotgun, seized from criminals in 2023, was revealed to have vanished from Kildare Garda Station for 13 years—last seen in 2010. The gun’s serial number uncovered its prior confiscation in 2009, but records were so poor that keys to the firearms cupboard sat openly accessible. Seventy-two rounds of ammo also went missing. A 2014 audit flagged the gun as “not viewed,” misinterpreted by staff as just unexamined—not lost. No controls or accountability existed, allowing the firearm to slip into criminal hands. The case now sits with senior management for classification and action. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
