Shou Talks: Mistaken Identity

from Shou Talks · host Shou

Those of you that know me understand my INFATUATION with @willsmith so when I found out that HBO Max was hosting Fresh Prince of Bel-air, I immediately created an account and started binge watching. It wasn’t long before I came across an episode that is addressing something still going on today. Season 1 episode 6: Mistaken Identity. In this episode, The Banks are faced with the reality check of Racial Injustice. What stood out to me the most was Carlton’s attempt to justify the racial profiling and injustice. They face life sentences without parole.  Breona Taylor: A grand jury indicted a former Louisville police officer in late September for wanton endangerment for his actions during the raid. He pleaded not guilty. No charges were announced against the other two officers who fired shots, and no one was charged for causing Ms. Taylor’s death.  George Floyd: In June, Derek Chauvin,  was charged with second-degree manslaughter and second-degree murder, a more serious charge than he had originally faced. If convicted, he could face up to 40 years in prison. The other fired officers, Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng, face aiding and abetting charges.   Source: NY Times   #shoutalks #shounanigans #racialinjustice #drivingwhileblack #freshprineobelair #blacklivesmatter #blm #podcast #blackpodcasters #podcastlife #podcastersofinstagram #radiogoals #podcastshow #newpodcast #notyourtypicalpodcaster #spotifypodcast #promo #blackfemalecreatives #blackentrepreneurs #spotify #anchor #pocketcast #googlepodcast #applepodcast #radiopublic #breaker #overcast #youtube
