Should Facebook Be the Arbiter of Truth? | in the clear #128

This is a hot button issue that has seen no lack of opinions. When Facebook allows extremists to spread hate speech and commit acts of violence they are called out for not doing enough. When they do actually censor content they receive widespread condemnation. So what is the answer? Are they to be the gatekeepers of truth like the 6pm nightly rabbit ear news of old or are they to be the public square where anything goes?
