Should Politicians Be Able to Buy Stocks and Bonds?

Politicians are around sensitive information that could move stocks if the public were aware of it. There are rules however, that prevent people who are exposed to that information from benefiting from "inside" information. It is illegal to take information not know by the public and buy or sell securities. Yet, the politicians do it without consequences.
