Should Royals Extend Caglianone | Kansas City Royals News

The Royals are in retooling mode, not rebuild mode, thanks to a young core led by breakout star Jac Caglianone—a 23-year-old lefty slugger who’s hitting .260 with 15 homers and 35 RBIs in 90 games. Once doubted after a rough rookie season, he’s now a cornerstone, even earning a spot in the Home Run Derby. With teams like the Cardinals signing young stars early (think JJ Wetherholt) and the Royals having already locked up Bobby Witt Jr. at a premium, now’s the time to extend Caglianone before his value skyrockets. His power, improved at-bats, and upside make him a must-sign—before he’s too expensive. Caglianone and Witt could form one of the AL’s most electrifying young duos.
