In the early 2000's, it was the feeling of many Star Wars fans that the Prequel Trilogy films were missing elements that they had been promised since the days of the Original Trilogy. Along came Star Wars The Clone Wars, filling in some of the gaps. As a result, many fans began to better appreciate the Prequel Trilogy. The same evolution may eventually occur regarding the Sequel Trilogy. This begs the question: should we need to turn to supplemental material to explain what is missing from the films?
