Should You Allow Your Clients To Freeze Memberships?

from Gym Business Coach Podcast · host Tim Lyons and Randy Angsten

As a gym owner, you’ll be faced with a scenario where clients want to freeze their memberships due to various reasons. Sometimes there are going on vacation, they may be going to a second home to escape bad weather, travel for work, etc. Here at Pulse Fitness, most of our members have second homes elsewhere to escape the hot summers here in Arizona. If we didn't allow freezes, we wouldn't have members. So if you are in a demographic like ours, the question that arises is, how should your freezing policy look like? What we do here is that for members who are on annual contracts, they can freeze up to three months, but we bill them consecutively for 12 months and then tack on the months they froze at the end. This ensures that we don't suffer a dip in revenue during the summer months when some of our members are out of town. In addition, we have built the communication around freezing into our CLA.Do you have a freeze policy in your gym? Are you wondering how to implement one or change your current one? Listen in to this episode to get some ideas from Tim and Randy on how to do it without affecting your gym's revenue.Key TakeawaysPros and cons of sending Black Friday campaign to your current clients (01:31)How to determine if you will allow freezes in your gym (04:17)How to allow freezes in such a manner that it doesn't affect your revenue (07:04)Building the communication around freezing into our CLA (08:36)Review if your demographic has a need for a freeze policy (11:56)Additional Resources:----winninggym.com/workshop ----www.PFMarketingSolutions.com/Callpfmarketingsolutions.com/automationwww.CLACourse.comwww.ProFitGPS.netMarketing Talk with Fitness Professionals Facebook Grouphttps://PFMarketingSolutions.com/Data--If you are interested in a free audit for your gym, visit http://bit.ly/free_gym_audit--You can find out more about Tim and the strategies covered in this episode by checking out our website.--Would you rather watch the video version instead?Head over to our YouTube channel to watch this episode by going here
