Should You Rail-Road Your Players?

Should you put your players on rails or is it better to allow them to roam free in the sandbox? Every DM has wondered this and many claim their game is a sandbox and they would never railroad their players. However, these terms don't exist in a binary state and there is a good chance your game is on the tracks. This week we go over why that isn't necessarily a bad thing as true open world games are difficult to achieve and not always conducive to certain styles of play.
