When you're just starting out as a journal writer, you probably care a lot about keeping your work private. If you are worried that a third party might get unauthorized access to your diary, you need to address this matter immediately. There are many who gravitate to electronic journals because they offer the option to "hide" files and encrypt entries, satisfying a demand for secrecy. This works just fine as a compromise.
