Show #2 - Interview with Mariela Mcilwraith

In October the Convention Industry Council will hold it's Hall of Leaders Celebration in Las Vegas.  On our second podcast we were able to sit down and talk with Mariela Mcilwraith, CMP, CMM, MBA of GMIC and Meeting Change to talk about her being honored this year with the Pacesetter Award from the CIC.   As President of Meeting Change and Director, Sustainability for GMIC she's taken an industry leadership role in CSR, sustainability, ethics and other emerging issues in the meetings industry.  She's the editor of the recently published 9th edition of the Convention Industry Council Manual as well as being co-author of Meet Better: 167 Easy Ways to Make Your Events More Environmentally and Socially Responsible. We discuss the upcoming CMP Conclave and GMIC event in Baltimore and some of the ways that will be used to assure those who come will be participants and not just attendees.
