It's Thursday, and I guess we're going to talk about podcasting with the old music opening. Why not? I'm just gonna push the button And welcome To the daily grateful I had a great idea for a podcast the other night I was I was sleeping and all of a sudden I woke up I just woke up out of the middle of the night and I had this fabulous idea for a podcast and here's all you know It was so good. It was so rich It was you know I knew I would enjoy doing it and I'd have fun and I went back sleep and I didn't grab the notebook that I keep on the side of my bed with a pin attached to it and write it down because I It was so good.

How can I forget it? I forgot it Cannot for the life of me remember what that podcast idea is and it was so darn good You know man What is a podcast that's the question? Well a podcast is essentially an audio file that is recorded by someone in a digital form and It is then uploaded to the internet and spread throughout the world Well podcasting has become very popular in the past several years. When did I start podcasting Michael?

When did you start podcasting? Well long ago? Well not even that long ago in 2005 or Even before that maybe 2004 I will all during this time I was doing a nationally syndicated gardening radio show as on all over the country and I did the show from a house they came and built studio a mouse which I thought was very nice of them and Yeah, very very nice of them as a matter of fact And I've enjoyed all the equipment fabulous thousands of dollars worth of equipment I've gotten rid of all of it. They never asked for it back I kept using it for years and then slowly became outdated and outdated and I got new stuff You know, but anyway, I have full podcast you know, I got a picture you gotta see it You'll you'll find on a website sometime But anyway besides doing the gardening show ever so once in a while I would walk into my studio when the kids were out doing something else and you know Those other things were happening and I would sit my butt down and I would record a Audio file, okay, that's what I get I would sit in there and record an audio file and Just talk about what was on my mind And it was what was on my mind usually was the kids or something that the family was doing or you know something that my mom was doing or You know anybody It was it was always about that so, you know what that means that I was doing this in the 90s Yeah, I was doing this in the 90s and it was called Michael Crowe's talks and I would stick it out on the interweb And where I put it there were a couple of places where you had have your own internet radio show for free And I Gosh, I don't even remember that many of them But there was like a couple places where I would put these things and they were about I don't know 10 15 minutes long Sometimes a little longer.

I remember on Thanksgiving. I did one We had I had grilled this I grilled a turkey on the Weber grill on the same Weber grill that is even today sitting in my backyard I kept it in the divorce But I went in and I made it was a almost a 30-pound turkey and the whole family was coming over and it was a big thing And we decided to do it on the charcoal Wilbur grill and read articles how to do it all that good type of stuff and I had to keep feeding charcoal into it and You know it was either gonna be the best damn turkey ever or it was gonna be a disaster It was just going to be an absolute disaster and it turned out to be the best turkey ever I've to this day not had a turkey that good and I'm not that I don't like turkey all that much So I like for turkey sandwiches. I love that but eat a turkey You know you only do that Thanksgiving or Christmas you never go out, you know during the summer by turkey You know turkey dinner. No, you'll need to it for them and it just but anyway fabulous turkey So I sat down and I talked about that and there was a talk show host that existed long before that his name was John Eastman And I remember one Thanksgiving he did his show live and he had guests in his studios And they actually made a Thanksgiving dinner and they had it right there in the studio at WPLP radio in Penelope, Florida Where by the way, I did my very first talk show ever was at that station But anyway, I listened to it and he told a story that day and I'm not going to repeat it now But it was called the five-bladed silver plated boy scout knife with a handle and I don't know when I did this Michael crows talks And since it was Thanksgiving in honor of Johnny's moon I told the story again and it is a convoluted story try trust me and if you want to know if you want to hear go find it On the interweb just look up a five-bladed silver plated boy scout knife with a handle and Michael crows It's been reposted in different places.

I don't even know where it is now But I know in the original place that it was at it had over a million people over the course of a couple of years Listen to it over a million people Listen to a little thing where I just walked in because I was exhausted from Thanksgiving and did Michael crows talks and did the five-bladed silver plated boy scout Knife with a handle and that was a podcast and that was before there were podcast But that's what a podcast is so when we come back and do this again I'll tell you a little you know how you can do your own podcast and I've already talked about equipment But I'm gonna help you formulate how to design a podcast and I'm going to tell you this if you wake up in the middle of the night with this fabulous idea For a podcast just absolutely freaking fabulous idea for a podcast and you've got the little notebook right next to your bed on the nightstand And there's the pen grab the damn thing and write it down Because you know you'd be you'd be getting ready here like the best podcast ever and I remembered what it was Well, that was fun I'm grateful that I started podcasting that long ago with the little Michael crows talks thing I stopped doing it and before there was even podcast Because things are happening in life and all kinds of stuff But I did several episodes here and there and just stuck them up didn't have a permanent place to put them Blog talk radio might be one of the places where you can find it. I'll look later But you look for blog talk radio. You might find the five bladed silver plated Boy Scout knife with a handle that John Eastman told the story of and I repeat it. We'll see you tomorrow for Friday
