Send us Fan MailOpenAI vs Microsoft: once like a big brother ensuring the little brother had everything needed, increasingly, the picture perfect family image between MS and OpenAI is showing cracks. One can recall the attempted ouster of Sam Altman and how quickly MS scooped in not only to provide him a safe landing place if needed along with all key staff of OpenAI to first and privileged access to the latest OpenAI tools and fast forward now and announcements are sparse at best. Agreements once thought to be formalities are now simply not occurring. The once highly coordinated approach is increasingly something of the past. OpenAI is now more assertive and MS, may soon realize that little brother is now all grown up and not waiting on anyone or taking orders from anyone. It wouldn't even be too far fetch to suggest that in 5 years times OpenAI may well reverse the relative positioning of the relationship if MS doesn't reassert its role vis-a-vis its fast growing little brother!
