Showers Today, Quiet Roads, Big Trackwork
from Wake Up Sydney
Wake Up Sydney — Weather, Traffic and Trains (Sat 27 June 2026) Start your Saturday with a clear, three-minute brief on Sydney’s weather, roads and rail so you can plan the morning and beat the rush. Weather: City 10.9°C now, heading for 18°C with on‑and‑off showers. Parramatta: cool and showery, top around 18°C. Bondi: around 18°C with showers and winter surf running. Sunday outlook: more showers, 12–19°C — a cool, snuggly weekend. Traffic: Generally quiet. Lidcombe: two‑car crash on Parramatta Rd eastbound just past Hill Rd — Lane 1 closed and only one lane getting through; tow and TfNSW on scene. Slow down, merge early and allow extra time. Trains & Metro (weekend trackwork): T4 Illawarra & South Coast — buses replace trains between Cronulla/Waterfall and Central, and between Dapto/Port Kembla and Central; allow extra time and possible bus swaps. T8 Airport & South — buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central; for airport trips, change at Central (best for bags/access) or Wolli Creek (for Redfern–Hurstville). Sydney Metro — no services Tallawong–Sydenham; buses run Tallawong–Chatswood; use regular trains between Epping/Chatswood and the City, and for the North Shore line change at Hornsby, not Epping. Central Coast/Hawkesbury — 5:30–10:30 all trains at Hawkesbury River and Cowan use Platform 2; 7:00–10:30 trains toward Hornsby do not stop at Cowan — use a bus from Hawkesbury River or travel via Berowra. Quick tip: Pack a brolly, leave a little earlier, and check your transport app before you go.
