Show Notes:

We're walking the walk over here and putting ourselves out of our comfort zone pretty much constantly! Just like we encourage the girls we mentor to do! So many lessons came from a recent keynote speech we gave for a company in Wisconsin! Fortunately for all of us, the lessons we need when we are teens and tweens STILL apply as we get older. The teen girl and the executive we have the honor of helping both have a lot of the same needs, and are both constantly in situations where they need to communicate and work well with others. In this episode, we talk about how we all can "people better" whether that's at school, in a sports team, or in the boardroom at work! Tune in to hear one of the biggest lessons and takeaways from our experience giving this keynote speech, how you can apply it to your life, and teach that skill to your kids!

01:20 The speaking engagement we just got back from that didn't look like our typical crowd!

04:40 How can we help this company "people better"?

07:00 Why it's so important to show up as YOURSELF in every room.

10:15 How to build confidence through action!

12:00 Are you setting the example and talking to your kids about showing up as themselves?

16:30 Lessons from some women we met in the airport.

The Art of Noticing Johnny B. Truant **A Bite-Sized Podcast that Teaches You to See and Use the Creative Inspiration That's Already Around You** Trouble with the muse? Believe me, I get it. Even after 120 books and a show on Hulu, I have as much trouble “finding the magic” as anyone. But the truth is, you don’t need to seek inspiration because it’s already all around you … if you know how to see it. Each 10-minute episode of “The Art of Noticing” contains two parts: something small and almost random I noticed around me, then a creative lesson I made from it, like spinning gold from straw. Whether it’s something in the news, the rhythm of rain against the window, a bit of trivia, word from a friend, or some small tidbit I picked up somewhere, anything can be creative fuel if you can learn to see what’s in front of you. Nothing is ordinary. Everything is art! /// Find show notes, transcriptions, and multi-weekly blog posts at https://www.johnnybtruant.com <a href="https://johnnybtruant.substack.com/s/the-art-of-no The Extra In The Ordinary Erica Boerman Here we celebrate the little "extras" in our ordinary lives. And really, nothing about living out our lives under the authority of the Word of God and in the power of the Spirit is ordinary. It is extraordinary. However, sometimes amidst the diapers, FAFSA applications, driving lessons, tadpole catching, laundry, and general every day life, we don't pause to see the little extra something. It's the twinkle in your kid's eye as he shows you what he made in art that week. It's the silent tear that you barely catch a glimpse of when she walks through the door. It's the never-ending bedtime questions that might be a stall tactic - or it just might be the moment he knows he has your undivided attention for the first time that day. That's the extra. That's what makes the ordinary stand at attention. It's what makes us say, "Thank you, Lord, I almost missed this."
