In the dead of night as people sleep that is when the spirits creep as the bell tolls three Dark things take power. We like to call it the supernatural Hey, welcome to the supernatural hour. This is your host Raven and this is your co-host Chad and this is all everyone's in a while stuff happens and Sometimes you just get us so we're sorry. We're sorry that the interesting people weren't here Um, anyway, we do have a really fun topic work, so we will jump into that in a minute in the meantime Stop working if you've been listening to this podcast for sometime You'll notice that when I talk it kind of glitches and jumps around We think we know what causes that and we're gonna have a fixed for our next recording Um didn't have time to fix it today.

I tried and then came a long story You get one more of me being kind of glitchy bear with us Litchy glitchy. Oh, yeah glitchy. Stop Okay, we're aware that there's a sound issue there and we're gonna we're gonna get taken care of All right, so um This is sponsored by castle photo org. I got my pictures back for graduation.

They look fantastic. They really do. Um, I'm super proud of them Um, if you want to see them, they're on Facebook. I got my degree It's the actual in the mail diploma.

Okay. Here's the thing. Did you know I assumed okay, let me meet you When you when you walk through graduation and they hand you the thing and you turn it out in a smile I think everyone knows your actual diploma's not in there. Even in high school You got to go turn in stuff before you can get your your your actual degree So this is what it said inside.

Okay, I'm gonna read it verbatim. Okay, no one can see this bit chat But I'm holding it up. I took this out of the little red container. They gave me a little envelope thing The little folder thing a little hard envelope thing, right?

Yeah, it says congratulations We hope the University of Utah commencement and convocation exercises have been memorable events for you The plumb okay. No this the plumbus have been mailed To students who completed degree requirements last summer and fall. Okay, blah blah blah It says for students graduating this spring that would be me Diplomas will be mailed after grades are recorded and all the degree requirements have been evaluated for completion this process takes approximately eight weeks Okay, will be mailed so you're assuming that after they check and make sure that you really did everything you're supposed to You didn't forget everything. They're so mail you your diploma that you were you know yours for and you paid the gob ton of money for No, no, they don't just mail you a piece of paper.

Nope. You have to order it for an additional $36 Yeah I guarantee you that the piece of paper they sent me did not cost $36 You would think that they could just mail you a diploma. No, they still have to bleed you from a bit more money. Anywho Ah, you did you did log into a paranormal podcast by the way, so let's get more into that Um, business wise we have our next investigation in the works So hard to get one, isn't it?

Well in all honesty um After graduation just a bunch of stuff going on so I really haven't started looking until just the last couple days But um, there was one that I called just today actually hoping we could get into but apparently paranormal investigations aren't part of their business model So there's been a great place to investigate. They were nice, but very firm So we'll try to get in a minute. Raven has investigated there before not as a paranormal deal, but as a as a person at a wedding I was at a wedding and so we did some planned this time. I mean not really.

I didn't have equipment I actually thought about the operation there, but anywho, um, we did get in contact with someone For a place that I hope we can get into we've been trying to get into here for a couple years And just haven't been able to talk to an actual individual and I talked between living and reading human beings So we will let you know about that as soon as possible and sometimes in the paranormal we talked who did human beings Yes, but this was a live human being in which to In which to schedule an event in which to schedule an event only kind of like your professor Allison Um our next little verb next podcast. Okay next podcast. I want to talk about springtime a ghost story by Michelle de crester That's spelled um de space k-r-e-t-s-e-r I read it. It's 85 pages and they're little short pages.

Um, it took me 45 minutes to read this Um, it would have taken me less time But we were out doing yard work and I was done doing yard work and Chad was still doing some yard work and he would talk to me Sometimes which and I'm not dis and chat about this but I would have to read some paragraphs every once in a while because we would be talking about stuff So, um, it's a pretty quick read and I would like to discuss this next podcast Um If you have read it and you want to join in on the podcast and and discuss it with us Um, please email me at apps.wisps.contact.gmail.com and we will let you know how to hop onto the podcast And we will spend 15-20 minutes talking about this book. I'm not gonna say anything about my thoughts right now We're gonna wait until our next podcast. Um Also, we want to just give a shout out to our page. John's you guys are amazing and Again, we're really pushing our page on signup perks.

Um, I've got boxes. I've got them already. They're looking really cool It's gonna have some towels in it. There's going to be a K2 in there.

We've got some of moon stickers There's just all sorts of goodies in there and that's just gonna big things and Uh, probably gonna put a t-shirt in there um It's just going to be Just I don't want to say a Pandora's box because that's kind of bad. It's a good it's a good Pandora Pandora sister Eleanor Eleanor's box of wispy goodies Um, all sorts of fun stuff. So once you've become a katreon and after four months, we will send you this really fun box of stuff. All right, so um I think it's all we have business wise Yeah, a little slow business wise where we'll get something up and hopefully you'll be seeing a an event on a bit right soon And also we'll be sending out um if you've been to other events you'll get emails through event right about new events coming up Yep, you'll definitely that'll definitely be an investigation up within a week.

Um, it's just I'm hoping that we get the one that I want We have our backup that that's easy to get but we're hoping to get this one that we haven't been to for a minute All right, so tonight we're gonna talk about shrews berry prison Um, and shrews berry prison is difficult for me to say I've had a hard time saying but I think shrew and a berry shrews berry prison Sorry, I had to get my notes. They were on the printer which was far away. All right, so let me give you a little history about shrews berry um Anything is going to you put old in England. You're gonna get ghosts the original prison on the site was completed in 1793 And uh, it was designed by architect john hyrum haycock um, under the supervision of a man named thomas tellford and it was actually named after a fellow named reverend edmund dana and so a lot of Times they call it the dana so, you know, it's technically shrews berry prison, but you know anytime we I was doing any sort of research It was always pulling up the dana the dana Um, so in the 1870s it they did a lot of reconstruction You know, not just a wheel fixing something here fixing something there.

I would call it significant reconstruction Um, because at this point it's 80 years old Uh, actually i'm 80 years old and you know, they want to modernize it right? It was built in 1793 So 1870s come along. They're like, hey, let's make it more modern. We do that today, right?

Um, and so when you go and see this prison today, that's why it kind of has the victorian area victorian air look as opposed to uh, the 1793 look Um, it's got a central hall and it's got wings on it not like bird wings. I felt that bad joke coming I could see it in your eyes a little blimmer in your eyes. Um It's got wings and this kind of allowed for more efficient surveillance and control, you know, so they could more easily watch The prisoners that were in this prison Um They actually decommissioned the prison in march of 2013 partially to overcrowding. Um, also, you know, we're more modern now than in the 1800s um It's a facility that was designed for 178 inmates and at the time of closure at house 36 So, you know, I had way more people in there than there should have had Um It was the site of some public executions until 1868 and After that, they still had some executions, but those were privately within the prison walls the last one there taking place in 1961 So Was that George Riley?

Yes, I believe it was So he was the last man executed at Shrewsbury prison and he was hanged on February 9th, 1961 for the murder of a woman named Adeline mary smith Ever since eerie reports from cell block see include door slamming Studen cold gusts and even sightings of a male apparition near his former cell Some people believe that Riley may have been innocent Fueling theories that his spirit lingers and unrest so that's kind of one of the last execution at Shrewsbury prison Yeah, so um most of its executions between 1902 and 1961 Excuse me. There were at least seven confirmed executions by hanging And the execution room was actually situated above the old execution block And this oddly enough, I know you're all gonna be surprised at this it was a focal point for paranormal activity. Go figure Well the execution the execution room and the execution block below it. I know I could see that right So some of the um activity that people experience while they're there because right now you can go there at the museum and you know Visitor center and you can go visit but visitors and paranormal investigators Have reported hearing phantom screams and sounds Disembodied screams some people have heard rattling chains.

They've heard footsteps not only in the execution room, but in some of the adjacent corridors Shadow figures they'll see a dark silhouette. They'll see a dark silhouette which they referred to as the shadow man, which is incredibly Unique it's been observed in the a wing particularly near the execution site. So there's an a wing in the same wing that we're gonna talk about We've had those in my high school See wing was where all of the smart students hung out. They wing was the the kind of where you know Some other people in D wing was where the burn burnouts came out.

So we're going back in the 70s See when I was in high school in a band hall, there's the FFA hall of the story. Anyway, okay back to those Um, a lot of people have reported sudden temperature drops Visitors say they've experienced a broad chill especially in the execution room. Um, you know, which explains some Unexplained which suggests unexplained energy shifts And you know, that's not indicative necessarily of paranormal activity, but it could be So Chad you had talked about George Rodney, and he was the last execution and she was very prison and in 1972 They did some redevelopment, you know, because again they're you know, changing things up and doing different things They actually found the remains of can executed prisoners and they exhumed those nine of them were cremated anonymously And you know because they couldn't identify who they were but Riley's remains were identified and returned to his family So Something else that's interesting as far as activity is some people when they're in this area, they felt a tightness around their neck You know, as though news were around their neck Sometimes they feel sudden pressure on their chest which gives them you know feelings of you know, like a breathlessness And sometimes a panic and some people Some people have heard things they've heard disembodied voices. I explain Knox sounds of footsteps like we mentioned earlier Especially during nighttime investigations which as the paranormal investigator sounds tender ramp up at night Um The other thing other than the shadow men which we've already talked about There was a paranormal investigation that occurred where they said a noose in the execution room was observed to swing on its own And it had been debunked as you know, no drafts, no open windows There was nothing in the room that the find that should have made that swing So that was interesting I thought Um We talked about you know the different wings so in seeming there's actually some other interesting things It was originally designated for women and this is considered the most haunted area of the prison And so people are thinking children in the prison.

Yeah, that was actually kind of a con thing You could be put in there, you know for big pocketing was a was a big thing that they would put children in prison for But some of the things that they have found there There's a woman called the gray lady. She is a spectral figure. She's you know, just in victor and attire. She is seen walking or pacing between cell two zero three Um and along the there's like an upper walkway and just back and forth from cell two or three at the walkway and then she vanishes And you can see some people seeing her just once.

Some people will see her a couple of times Almost as though she's pacing. Uh, there's a Georgian child the Georgian meaning the era Um, it's a young boy approximately eight years old and people have seen him reported here at the staircase and those that have seen him Because um, they describe it as seeing him sitting silently before he disappears So unexplained sounds which is very common and paranormal. Uh, just kind of your normal They report hearing footsteps bangs disembodied voices A lot of times those voices are women and children considering that the wing was potentially built for that purpose But they do also hear men's voices occasionally And so it just kind of gives that whole wing kind of an eerie vibe And this is kind of reminding me a little bit even though it's a different time period of um the Rawlings prison Doesn't this remind you of Rawlings prison when we went there? Yeah, the Rawlings prison was bigger from what I can tell but yeah, it seems a lot like that and guess what?

dads get in free on father's day To the Shusbury? Yeah, well, yeah, they do that. So if you're if you're in England singland right if you're in England and uh, yes, you know on father's day they're they're Fathers getting for free So so that's it it does look like they've got a lot of activities that they do they have they do give guided tours through the prison They have a cell escape room where you can do, you know, like uh those escape rooms kinds of things It looks kind of cool. It's a fully immersive state of the art escape room where you can do the Uh time without committing the crime.

So do your time without committing the crime Okay So there's a lot of different events that they've got they've got ghost tours they got the prison break event You can spend a night behind bars. That's Shusbury prison Uh night behind bars in a 12 hour night stay in one of you case most haunted prisons could you handle the whole night? This event is an 18 plus event only so that sounds like a pretty cool place Um, I wouldn't mind there if we make it there for father's day you can get in free. I know I mean we can save some money.

Yeah, well, and we can spend nights behind bars when I have to get a hotel room That night. Yeah, I like that. I'm just making this trip cheaper and cheaper All right, saving money right and left. Oh no So here is smart activity that's going on if we we're gonna kind of come out of seawing for just a second and go over to a wing A wing uh People that have been there to say it's really notorious for its oppressive Atmosphere and that's kind of where if you're looking for the warm level and entities you need to head over to a wing So there's another shadow man over there and I haven't I couldn't decide if it was the same shadow man and a different shadow man Maybe nobody knows right, but they say it's a tall dark figure that's often going to Moving along the walkways And when people see them it's not oh, you know, there's a there's a tall dark figure I'll look at that.

Let's look up a guy on camera, but they say it kind of gives a sense of dread among people that see it There's also what some people might call poultergeist phenomenon. I just call it ghost phenomenon, but they hear slamming door cells Door cells slamming doors of cells objects being thrown send cold spots some visitors have Mentioned that they felt sharp pains or witnessed apparitions within cells themselves Um, then if you go down and you find cell 441 Apparently whoever someone was in that cell who Attempted suicide and when you go to that particular cell it reportedly induces feelings of chest pressure And then ease among anybody that happens to wander in there So you might say to yourself well, that's okay We will just go to the chapel because most persons have a chapel of some sort so we're gonna go to the chapel and You know, you'll feel better in the chapel, right? No, you won't so The chapel that she was very prison is actually probably one of the more chilling places there Um, historically if you think about it, the chapel is where condemnative prisoners are going to go into their final confessions before they're executed You know, maybe they're gonna go there and pray You know for some relief, you know, pray for forgiveness pray, you know, that they're not going to be judged harshly in the hereafter Um, but there's not a lot of energy going on in there, you know Think about it. The church there's always going to be a lot of emotions, you know, if you're blessing a baby or you know, there's a wedding Easter Christmas time.

I mean, there's gonna be some good energy, so if you have a chapel in a prison, it's gonna be more those those I don't know. I mean, there's gonna be some negative feels but just What's the word I'm looking for? The more heavy emotions are gonna be going on there So Staff and visitors alike have reported hearing to somebody voices there And in those disembodied voices, it's not just voices. They've heard what sounds like prayers.

They're kind of murmured You know kind of under breath and a prayer. They've heard sobbing um, and That you can have someone that heard what sounded like the intonation of a priest Like giving that rights Um and all of these, you know, it was people in the chapel when it was empty and there was no one there that could have have made that um So It just sounds like no matter where you go in this prison. You're gonna find some activity Yeah, they say it is one of most wanted sites in England and there's a lot of hotness sites in England So that's pretty good It's gonna say good recommendation We've got a lot of podcasts about stuff in England and you all are just old and have a lot of stuff going on over there Um, I do know you know, we have a lot of listeners from many many different countries across the world And I've you know, I've been able to talk with some of you Um, I can't talk with anybody in England though. So if you listen to us and you're in England, I would like you to drop us An email Um, let us know if you've been in any of these places that we've talked about in England Um, let us know if there's a place that you want us to talk about because You know, local people are the ones that really know where all the good stuff is So yeah, there's some cool ones like the ancient ancient ram in that we talked about on the podcast and the Stonehenge and yeah, there's just a lot of cool places there And then some of the events when we talked about Jack the Ripper or while we act and some of the different things too So a lot of stuff going on in England deals with the paranormal incremental activity Oh, absolutely.

Um, in fact, I've been doing some painting at my house And while I paint I just like to have on you know, a documentary or something, you know, something that you don't have to watch You can just kind of listen to And I actually put on a documentary about Jack the Ripper, which is super interesting And we have podcasts about him before but it's been a long time ago. So we might want to We might want to retouch that one and just revisit it because I think it's fascinating Anywho, so if you are going to be in England and you're looking for a ghost hunt You do this one I think would be fantastic because they do have tours they do do paranormal tours if you go on father's day You get in free apparently so I think there's a lot of a lot of activity and I bet you if we were there that you get EPs you probably get all sorts of stuff. So All right, we just want to get a shout out to mystic frog. I have not been there for quite some time Just because life but I actually will get Sometime this weekend.

So I think I'm gonna run down there and say hi and see what all sorts of new stuff they got down there It was a pretty neat venue pretty neat place. We have done some mini investigations there And done kind of our presentation or dead talk presentation there a couple of times And it's been really fun to share that information with people and they're they are great hosting it and they have a great shop Yes, they do So our junk drawer today is brought to you by Huish performing arts and cultural events center otherwise known as pace Um, if you're looking for something to do go look at their website and they've been lost up on so that would be something fun to do All right, our junk door um as you Peruse the internet anymore. I'll scroll through facebook and there's a lot of stuff that you can tell is AI And I love the eye. I really do.

I think it's got some amazing applications But sometimes you can't always believe everything that you're you're seeing So this little blurb that I found I don't know if it's real or not, but it's interesting So I'm gonna talk about it and if it's something that interests you you know hop on the internet and let's see what else you can find But this is called the painting that painted back. Um, did you know that bob Ross has a haunted legacy? No, I didn't know that You know, Bob Ross the the guy with the happy little trees that did all painting in the 1980s 90s 70s on pbs Yep, but apparently one of his Final works he painted a shadowy figure vanishing through the mist Um kind of and people say kind of hints that his art was a window to a darker reality So what is that darker reality? He tended to have recognitions and visions He believed that his landscapes came to him in dreams that he could explain and he would see and I'm using air quotes Forest lakes and cabins before painting them, you know, so is that a vision or is that just him imagining?

I mean, you know, punos Um his messages and symbols They say that in his paintings particularly He had the series called beyond the timberline It says that he would include strange symbols and messages such as portals in the pine Or the watcher beyond the ridge So if you are into bob Ross's paintings at all, you could give that look and see if you can find some of those hidden messages Um Ross reportedly experienced strange occurrences while painting and feeling like a painting was painting him Um, some think that he might have been in an altered state And I don't know if that means drugs or alcohol or maybe even best while he was creating his art I don't know. I have a hard time with happy little trees keeping happy little trees and be possessed at the same time I don't know that it necessarily Possessed would be it could be influenced you can have positive influences also from positive spiritual beings Absolutely A possession or an evil kind of thing. I think that uh, you know good and light can also influences and interact with us Yes So, uh, there was a paranormal art historian, which I did not know was a thing apparently it is and He used some infrared scanning On some of bob Ross's work. Oh my gosh.

I'm talking like captain kurt today Um, and they found some photo realistic faces embedded in the background of Ross's paintings Some of them they said actually resemble bob Ross himself like he did kind of a self portrait Um, that's interesting. Mm-hmm. Uh, or they say if it's not the boss that was someone connected to his life, you know, a family member a neighbor friend Um And then the last little bit says fans who own original bob Ross paintings report strange occurrences. Um, they say that they've had some vivid dreams Uh feelings have been watched, um or experiencing unexplained changes in the painting itself.

So, um A lot of these little stories are you know based on unverified sources Um, like anything, you know, it's kind of also how you interpret what you read Um, you know, I'm not saying that these are factual things by any means Um, but you know, it's interesting to know that there's I think if there's more than one story out there, there's got to be a grain of truth to it Um, or maybe there's a grain of truth and other people have you know run with it made up stuff. Who knows, but it's interesting And I never watched bob Ross Maybe once or twice when I was little because there's absolutely nothing else on Um, but he's interesting enough that I might look into this and see if I can find a little bit more about this But I thought that was kind of fun and interesting That is interesting. I think bob Ross. I like his art a lot and I I like how he can quickly create A beautiful work of art from canvas in really very little time and it's just gorgeous Yeah, no he would face this so fast Um And from my perspective, you know, everything that I've heard I haven't heard anything negative about about bob Ross Everyone seems to like him You know, they might hope a little fun added for hablundries, but I know he's there So did you ever see the bob Ross chia pet?

Yes, yes, I did That one was great Yes, I did he did have he did have kind of that 70s throw going on All right, um, we don't have any investigations to talk about That's been a little bit slow from the investigation standpoint. Yep, and partly that's my fault That means that we do have an investigation skip Chil a residential so our next podcast we will definitely talk about that And then I've got another one that they're supposed to be calling me. I haven't heard anything about from them So we're just waiting for them to call But raven has who approached school? She's got full paranormal brain now.

So a lot of fun things are going to come in on the works So, um Do we want to chat about anything else before we call this a night chat?
