Siblings: A Roman beginnings

from Two and a Mic - The Social Podcast

“That was the sort of fight that I could get to enjoy,” Vespasian replied. His round face was flushed with excitement and blood. “If that is how a newly trained cohort fights then we may well have the gods on our side.”Vespasian by Robert FabbriWhere else could we start than with one of the world’s greatest ever empires? Roman history was such a part of our childhood, either for the epics that were Ben Hur, Dimitrius and the Gladiator, The Robe, Cleopatra and Mark Anthony or The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, or simply the historical interest that we developed through books and myths. These old stories, the Greek myths, Babylon, Persia, the Egyptians, what fascinating roots the human race has, and yet despite these amazing stories, we live in a world that has learned little, ignores almost everything, and trudges forward without a care for tomorrow. We will no doubt pick apart a lot of these human frailties obiter dictum, but we will do so in our typically entertaining way and by focusing our attentions elsewhere primarily.I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
