"Sida y temor es un gran aporte a la historia de las epidemias y de la salud en el Perú en la década de 1980. Su principal contribución es mostrar cómo existió un desfase entre el conocimiento médico sobre el VIH/sida de aquel entonces y el papel que cumplió la prensa en representar de manera prejuiciosa y sensacionalista a los principales afectados por esta enfermedad y difundir temores en la sociedad". Claudia Rosas Lauro Juan Antonio Lan autor de Sida y temor. Prensa escrita y discuso médico en Lima ante una epidemia (Fondo Editorial de la PUCP, 2021) es historiador por la PUCP. Tambíen es administrador de la plataforma digital El Reportero de la Historia desde el 2020. Es becario en la Maestría de Investigación en Historia en FLACSO-Ecuador y condujo el programa Onda Histórica en FLACSO-Radio. En 2017 obtuvo el premio PADET de la PUCP; en 2019, el premio a la mejor tesis de licenciatura por la Asociación Peruana de Historia de la Ciencia, la Tecnología y la Salud; y en 2021, el XXVIII financiamiento de tesis de maestría en FLACSO-Ecuador.
