Christina Maslach is a Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. She is recognized as the research pioneer on burnout and created the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) that is the most widely used measure of job burnout. She has written award-winning articles and books, including “The Truth About Burnout” and a forthcoming book on how to make the world of work a better place, to be published by Harvard University Press. She is the Vice-Provost for Undergraduate Education at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to numerous awards, the impact of her research has earned the official recognition of burnout, as an occupational phenomenon with health consequences, by the World Health Organization.
