Sikh Temple Attack in Edmonton | Calgary News

Early Friday morning, an intruder breached the Nanaksar Gurdwara in Edmonton, attacking worshippers and desecrating the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji—two victims required hospital care. This incident is part of a troubling pattern of anti-Sikh hate in Alberta, including threats to gurdwaras in Calgary and a recent assault on a Sikh truck driver at an Edmonton Walmart. The World Sikh Organization of Canada, led by President Danish Singh, has condemned the attack, calling it disturbing but not unexpected, and is demanding the Edmonton police investigate whether it was a hate crime while urging the government to bolster security for all places of worship.
