Silence as Self-Preservation with guest, David Doerrier

from The Empowering Process Podcast With Gail Kraft · host Gail Kraft

Episode 120 Come join me as I get to speak with David Doerrier about growing up with a narcissistic mother. The world centered around her needs, and he was invisible. As a kid, He never talked. and that's still something that's difficult. David always had fears. He was the oldest of five kids that was picked on by his siblings. He had become the target and believed he could not come home with anything positive and was afraid to express mistakes. Being picked on bled over into school as well as other students witnessed David being teased by his siblings. So, he learned to just not talk to anybody. David withdrew and became depressed. It is no surprise that David entered into narcissistic relationships time after time until he realized something had to change. He recognized the choices he made were based in fear because he came from a place of self-worth being low and bravely sought help, guidance, and support. David has learned to rely on achieving persistence through adversity and finding the silver lining through the clouds. Finding success in spite of the odds. In overcoming his shortcomings, David stepped on the radio and theater and now helps his clients get past the barriers holding them back so they can present their way to success. David Doerrier founder of Present Your Way To Success has been an instructional designer for the past 30 years and a corporate trainer for over 20 years; he brings a wide spectrum of knowledge and experience to the field of communication. David also has an extensive background in radio and theater.  He has been able to bring his appreciation for the stage into his classroom training and use his radio experience to start his own eLearning voiceover business.  David voices online training modules for several fortune 500 companies and works with individuals and corporations to improve their internal and customer-faced communication. David is also Santa for the holidays.  During each Christmas season you will find him driving his sleigh to about 60 family, corporate, and charity events around the metro Atlanta area.
