Silence Isn't An Option

from Painted Trash: An LGBTQ+ Podcast of Hilarious Discourse · host Mark & Casey

Send us Fan MailWelcome to the 14th episode of Season 2 (episode 64 overall)!  With all that's going on in the world and the social justice needed in this time, Painted Trash is here for you.  You may not be watching much news coverage, but this was a challenging week in United States society.  The Boys of Painted Trash Podcast are giving you some deets and also a bit of release.  So getcha a heavy pour of port vintage and lets delve in!In this week's Weekly Pick-Up, has an etiquette question for Casey and Casey is prepping for his first visitors in over a year (yes -- they have been vaccinated). Then it's on to the Mid-Section.  The Boys have waited to speak out on the state of racism and police shootings  in the United States, but with the trial of Derek Chauvin (his knee was on George Floyd's neck for over 8 straight minutes), the killing of Daunte Wright (unarmed BIPOC) just miles away from the trial, and the killing of 13 year old, Adam Toldedo, it is clear there is a problem. Mark and Casey can no longer remain silent -- it isn't an option!  The topic is intense and the information is heartbreaking.  The Boys are meeting this moment with the brevity it deserves.  This is an important conversation and we hope it will spur you on to discuss and/or take appropriate action.Next up is the always hilarius, Trash Talk segment!  With the weight of challenges of the last week and the tragedies in the news, there are some comical news events and this episode would not be complete with at least a couple big laughs!  First up, Casey's brought some footage from recent House coronavirus subcommittee meeting with Dr. Fauci and it is everything! Then Mark is sharing with Casey the backfired tweet from a former staff member of the HydroxyChloroQueen's administration about the vaccine.  Next, Casey has a couple of goodies involving the new Transportation Secretary for the United States. Closing out this week's Trash Talk, Mark has a story out of Boston about an unexpected day for a husband and wife near Boston, MA. These stories bring some big laughs to give you a couple reasons to relieve some of the week's anxiety and stress. In this week's recommendations, Mark has seen another Best Picture nominee is recommending it highly and Casey is celebrating trash television with his recommendation. This is an emotional, sometimes poignant, sometimes hilarious, episode sure to give you all the feels and make you think!  So grab your brushes as well as your port vintage and get ready for Painted Trash!=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-Let The Boys of Painted Trash know your thoughts on this week's topics and episode!Have a topic idea or story you recommend for Trash Talk, be sure to send it in to our email or through the "contact us" on our website.Follow us on:Instagram: instragram.com/paintedtrashpodTwitter: twitter.com/paintedtrashpodFacebook: facebookcom/paintedtrashpodcastDon't forget to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts!email: [email protected]: www.paintedtrashpodcast.comLet The Boys of Painted Trash know your thoughts on this week's topics and episode!
